ParticipantJOY here in metro Atlanta, Married no kids(Not from race issues, but from raising younger relatives and my working in customer service – best birth control ever!) were both “in-betweeners”, I’m too late to be true Baby Bomber like my older siblings and my sweetie is a early kid of Baby Boomers and too old to be really Next Generation” We are both born and raised in south college grads big city professionals but a little simple small towers at heart. Both more Libertarians than anything though he votes more Republican than I like because he a one central issue person. We are well traveled, he more than me because of military service and career travel.

ParticipantI always liked white boys even before I “liked boys” I was a tomboy who integrated two different elementary schools (we are talking 1 of 3 and 1 of 2) I had 3 years in all black schools then was bused in middle school. I had many crushes, but only one white “boyfriend” in Middle school. Unlike now I’m talking holding hands, passing notes, and a FEW kisses over a whole year. Even with those feeling I KNEW “bringing one home would cause issues. My family had white friends that we had over and went to their homes. But there was that unspoken line that was not crossed!
So when I moved for my first post college job to a single digit minority area from Memphis a near 50/50 area, I resigned myself to be alone, sharing or being the booty call. After almost 2 years of this I had an Aha moment, Why was I chasing after a VERY SMALL pool of black males when I was being actively hit on by white males? There were a few who I could tell just wanted to try a bit of “Chocolate”, but most wanted to go the real dating route. I decide to give the “white boys a try” and never really went back. I didn’t give up on black males for almost a decade, but I wasn’t lowering my standards just have one. I had VERY few dates, but I didn’t have what they wanted and they dumped me, usually after one date or never called after the first meeting. So I went to personal ads advertising for a white male and found “THE ONE”!

ParticipantI have no trouble talking about my experiences. However, I’m not into putting too much of our lives on internet, but I’d say our honeymoon pics show two “nice looking people a couple of 7’s unless you have size prejudices.
I have dated WM almost eight years before meeting my husband 22 years ago. I was also not my husbands first black woman, all though I did go out with white guys where i was their “first” I’ve been over average all my life with most of the time in the lower end of 18/20 but topped out at size 32 and got a lap band last fall. I’m down to mostly my 26 clothes but wearing some 24’s. Add to that my 6 years older than my husband I hit most growing genres. If I could just latent paranormal powers I would be the “ALL THAT CHIPS AND DIP” :))

ParticipantI now go with order you listed, but used to have cover first. However, the I/R & BBW titles have made me discount covers. So many times there would be a real plus sized woman (size 18 and up) on cover and story is about a size 12/14 Average size woman who just has image issues not real size discrimination. Even more frustrating is the I/R cover with wrong size, height or color tone of female and even the white male! In the early 90’s when there were few BWWM photos or art it made more sense except the covers that were obviously cut and paste jobs.
I add reviews now but look at averages then read the longest positive and negative entries.

ParticipantI love “real books” but my whole office is now a library (we are talking 7 book shelves on every wall, even over one window) because hubby is a bibliophile too! I’ve had to break down and decide which genres to keep recently, and have many large totes to give away for trade, but can’t force myself to take the last step.
On the other side I have thousands of Kindle stories due to freebies with a few hundred mostly on sale. Before there was a Kindle I have probably close to thousand of PDF’s ibooks, Nook books etc. These collections come from years working in bookstores, and then long term illnesses that I escape from with books.
I think paper books will be like records they faded to near extinction, now they are back in favor, but will never be for the masses again.

ParticipantI’ve read a few summations and some “look inside” chapters. The Mending Mind and Positive Curves series are on my wish list.
