I don’t think a person’s race should matter. What matters is how you are treated, common interests, common goals.

I personally couldn’t agree more Michele. There are guys in every race who will treat you well, but there are also guys in every race who aren’t so nice. Finding that person who treats you right should be a high priority, then everything else should come after that. Whether it’s a white guy you want to date or any other race.

The issue of bringing a guy home who may not be accepted by our parents is one I hear coming up a lot Joy. I’m glad you didn’t let that stop you in the long run. Thanks for sharing, I’m glad you found the one in the end. We all deserve to be happy, so I’m glad you found someone who does that, regardless of race.

That’s totally understandable about not wanting to share too much online Joy, I know some people like sharing their pictures but others aren’t too keen. Thanks for sharing your story though, I enjoy getting to know my readers that bit more. πŸ™‚

Michele and Mpho, there are some author who I’d buy from regardless. When they come out with consistently good material they earn that.

And good to see I’m not the only one looking at the front cover first Somora and Dee. πŸ™‚

Although Joy has a good point about the cover not always matching up to the characters in the book. That said, if I’m browsing and there’s a good cover which catches my eye I’ll have a look. I won’t buy solely based on that (and I sometimes buy books with covers I don’t like) but that is what catches my eye about a book / author I’ve never heard of before personally.

Sorry to hear about the long terms illness Joy, but glad you’ve got an escape from it. Yes Kindle books are great as there are always freebies or sales going on.

While I love physical books like you said they take up a lot of space. When I moved house mine took up a lot of space in the moving van. I’ve since got rid of quite a few, but there’s some I simply can’t let go of. Those that I really enjoyed.

Thanks Michele and Mpho, both of those are quite long reads. Since they’re both highly recommended I might just have a look. πŸ™‚

    Ok, I’ll go first. πŸ™‚

A cover is what usually catches me first, makes me want to click and look into the book more. Then the description, and finally the sample. If it’s from a author I like though usually that’s the main thing which makes me look into it first.

What about you, what’s the main thing which makes you look into a new book? A recommendation? Other?

I personally would. I feel that as long as the person treats you right then it shouldn’t matter about race. If you choose to date interracially that’s your preference and should be respected.

Thanks for the book suggestions guys. Proving His Innocence looks interesting, I may pick that up. And glad you enjoyed Esther’s My Instructor book Stephanie, I really enjoyed that one myself.

I’ll search Suddently Blue now Kathy.

Anyone else read any other good wmbw books recently?
